Henrietta Lacks
This book is critically important. I've a science degree and have heard of HeLa cells before but I, like most knee nothing of the woman they came from. I thought this was a great biography of Henrietta Lacks and her family. This book raises a lot of questions about the morality and ethics of tissue cultures. The book doesn't answer thieves questions it raises but does a good job of showing the multiple sides of this issue.
Everyone should read this book as HeLa cells impacted our daily lives and helps put light to an issue that doesn't get spoken of often enough, the people behind our scientific research.
