The City of Mirrors

The City of Mirrors: A Novel (Book Three of The Passage Trilogy) - Justin Cronin

I really should have stopped after feeling so Meh about The Twelve but I just had to finish. I didn’t really like this book, and while it brought things in the series full circle, I mostly didn’t care.  The pacing of this book didn’t work for me. I felt like the info dump about Zero was far too long, whiny, and broke the flow so severely that I was angry. And for being about a third of the book I finished feeling less sympathetic toward the character which I don’t think is what Cronin was shooting for.  The epilog didn’t work for me, the end fates of most of our main characters didn’t work for me.

I feel like most of this book was unnecessary and/or filler. The maybe third of this book that actually wrapped up the trilogy was good but the rest of it was so painful to me that have a hard time looking on that third favorably.
